I wrote "almost seventeen" about the many feelings   surrounding growing up and the independency that  comes with it. I'm sure many others can resonate with the idea of it seeming a bit scary or overwhelming at times,     but on the other hand, getting older introduces a very  exciting, new part of your life and gives you so much to look forward to. Couldn't be happier that it's out for you guys to listen to <3

ALMOST SEVENTEEN

Easy as it is
As much as I think I am fine on my own
Forgot a few things, didn't want you to know
Can't always call you when I don't feel in control
Something better than this
Is that what I expect, 'cause it's a bit bold
I'm out of line but don't realize until I'm told
Can't always call you but I still pick up my phone

Feel like I'm on the way down
Makes me feel like I should stay now
It's just the part where I freak myself out
Maybe I should stay now

Thinking I'll be better of in charge
I'm looking out a bit too far
Pack up my things
Knowing I'll be homesick someday
Almost seventeen and wrapped up in it
Risk throwing away the beginning
Pack up my things
Not sure what I'll be missing

Oh, I wish I didn't guess
If the idea is temporary in my head
Convincing myself that I know what's best
But again I'm up late
Realize I'm over my head

Feel like I'm on the way out
Ask myself if I should stay now
It's just the part where I freak myself out
Maybe I should stay now

Thinking I'll be better of in charge
I'm looking out a bit too far
Pack up my things
Knowing I'll be homesick someday
Almost seventeen and wrapped up in it
Risk throwing away the beginning
Pack up my things
Not sure what I'll be missing

Oh, I'm constantly waiting for an open door
Lately just something that I can't ignore
I'm back and forth
Can't always call you but I still pick up my phone

Thinking I'll be better of in charge
I'm looking out a bit too far
Pack up my things
Knowing I'll be homesick someday
Almost seventeen and wrapped up in it
Risk throwing away the beginning
Pack up my things
Not sure what I'll be missing
Oh, I
